Medical equipment maker Welch Allyn Inc. is making plans to build a large addition to its plant in Skaneateles, another positive sign for the facility's future as the company's new owner looks to consolidate some of its 15 manufacturing centers.
Welch Allyn officials on Tuesday presented plans to the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency for a 110,000-square-foot addition to the west side of its 350,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on State Street Road.
Nathan LaComb, vice president and associate general counsel for Welch Allyn, said the company will make a final decision within a few weeks on whether to go forward with the expansion, which will require approvals from the town.
