BUFFALO, N.Y. -- As the health care battle wages on, University at Buffalo welcomed 190 new physicians to Western New York at a White Coat Ceremony Tuesday.
Most of the new graduates have completed four years of med school following undergrad.
2 On Your Side spoke to several of them about what it's like entering their field with the national talk about health care and what it's like to see the medical campus booming in Buffalo.
"So I know financial things change, they come and they go. But I think the end goal is to provide the best care possible," said Dr. Mohammad Awan. "I think it's going to be a learning process. It's another thing I'm optimistic about. We're just kind of going to have to take it in strides and see how it all rolls out. The new Oishei hospital, that's going to be opening downtown in October or November, I think that's a great opportunity. These new facilities are making people start talking and thinking about what it would be like to build a career in Western New York."
