Two Rochester-based accounting firms—EFPR Group LLP and The Bonadio Group LLP—have agreed on a purchase of the EFPR nursing home practice by Bonadio. Four EFPR partners and 16 staff members have moved to Bonadio. The partners are Jennifer Arbore, CPA, William McDonald, CPA, MBA, Robert Nasso, CPA, and Brett Schrader, CPA. All four will work in Bonadio’s Rochester office. Terms of the agreement will remain private.
“The healthcare business, particularly with nursing homes, has changed greatly and will continue to evolve, so our exit from this sector is a strategic decision that enables us to concentrate on more relevant strengths for us,” said Kevin Hill, CEO of EFPR Group. “While we are gaining the ability to grow our firm more efficiently in our new configuration, Bonadio is a good fit for our outgoing partners and staff members, it’s been a relatively smooth transition, and we wish them well in their new environment.”
“We are thrilled at this addition to our healthcare practice and at the prospect of our new partners and staff,” said Thomas Bonadio, CEO of The Bonadio Group. “We’ve competed with them occasionally through the years, and we’ve seen their commitment to this industry and our community, so we know they are appreciated by clients and respected by everyone else. Together and as individuals, they strengthen our leadership abilities and our firm’s ability to serve clients at a high level.”
Three of the new partners specialize in nursing home accounting and consulting, and one in serving privately-held companies.
- Jennifer Arbore, CPA—Jennifer is experienced in audit, tax and consulting work for healthcare and nonprofit organizations, as well as for government entities. She serves on the boards of various local non-profits and is a graduate of The College at Brockport.
- Williams McDonald, CPA, MBA—Bill specializes in audits for hospitals, senior facilities and other healthcare organizations, as well as not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. He is the former department head of the EFPR Healthcare Group, and is a graduate of SUNY Oswego.
- Robert Nasso, CPA, MBA—Rob’s practice centers on healthcare organizations, including nursing facilities, home care agencies, hospitals and physician practices. He earned his master’s degree at the University at Buffalo.
- Brett Schrader, CPA, MSA—Brett specializes in audits and reviews of both closely-held and public companies. He also focuses his time working with private equity groups by providing merger and acquisition consulting services. He earned both of this degrees at SUNY Geneseo.
