| Description: | Works closely with the BioInspired Institute’s Director and Director of Operations to assist in most of the Institute’s programs and initiatives. Serves as liaison to Institute members, SU administration, Trustees, and Advisory Board members and partners; makes strategic recommendations for planning, policies, and practices. Conducts special projects for Institute leadership as needed. Administrative roles include the management and planning of operational budgets, including working with other University offices to manage internal and sponsored funding. Uses independent judgment to manage and coordinate daily office operations and workflow processes. Supervises staff, and works with leadership on resource planning, contracts, and logistics of the central research facility. Ensures compliance with HR and immigration requirements on search and hiring to Institute positions. Programmatic activities include the planning and coordination of Institute-wide activities, overseeing marketing and communications, and managing website content, databases, and calendars. In partnership with Institute leadership, organizes Institute events. Collaborate with faculty program directors on NSF-funded summer Research Experience for Undergraduates Site or similar programs, and helps organize and coordinate the Institute’s professional development program for graduate students. |
