I wish to thank Chairman McCall, Chancellor Zimpher, members of both boards, the search committee, and SUNY and RF leadership for this extraordinary opportunity. In coming to the RF and SUNY I become part of an accomplished and visionary organization and an educational system unmatched in excellence and scale.
I am thrilled to be joining the SUNY team.
Working with SUNY administration and RF staff, together with faculty and students on campuses across New York, I look forward to realizing the statewide and global potential of this unique ecosystem of innovation.
Together we will strive to boost the already powerful SUNY research engine. We will strengthen the connections between academic research and real-world problem solving, and between scholarship and the development of a workforce equipped to tackle technical, environmental, and medical challenges. We will create new pathways to implement research and translate SUNY technologies into products that benefit the world. We will tap into the brain trust of our academic population to drive entrepreneurial thinking, economic development, and job growth. We will reach for improved outcomes and build new models of success.
These are the opportunities that attracted me and they exist because of the proven and collective strengths of the RF and SUNY.
What we achieve will be matched in importance by how we achieve it. Acting in the interest of the public trust, the RF will conduct its work with integrity, openness, and transparency in fulfillment of its mission to serve SUNY.
