You will have executive responsibility for providing strategic leadership for the association, as well as managing staff and overall operations. As leader of a membership driven organization, you will be entrusted to champion the membership’s shared vision of a region where medical technology professionals and companies seek to do business. Tasked by the directors and membership, you will develop the goals and initiatives that align regional assets to facilitate individual and shared commercial success.
As president, you will report to the Association Board of Directors and partner with them to define and carry out the mission of MedTech. You will have ultimate strategic and operational responsibility for the activities of the association including formulating and managing an annual operating budget for the organization. You will identify and lead all key MedTech activities, including implementing industry-specific programming and events, developing efficient and effective member recruitment and retention initiatives, extending the MedTech community’s relationship with public officials and offices, and creating a regional industry brand that serves the needs of members and the broader regional biosciences community. With your staff (2-3 people) you will coordinate quarterly Board of Directors meetings and with agendas to include monthly financial/P&L reviews, President’s report and committee reports.
As the spokesperson for an 8-year old organization representing some of the best known names in healthcare products, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the exemplary reputation of the association in New York State and beyond. Working together with the Board and MedTech’s standing committees, you will tirelessly seek to enhance and expand the MedTech identity and reputation, while aiding in the growth of Upstate New York’s biosciences industry.
As a bridge between dozens of companies and universities, you will play an essential role in identifying and capturing opportunities for the regional industry. You will manage complex corporate, political and operational issues with creativity, discretion, enthusiasm and professionalism. Your responsibilities will include overnight travel as you participate in programs, meet with members and prospects and represent the Association at industry conferences.
Your demonstrated success in developing and implementing corporate strategies in a variety of functional areas, proven track record in driving business growth and extensive knowledge of the biosciences industry will all enable your success. Significant experience in business development, sales, and marketing is expected. You have successfully managed multiple direct reports, as well as third-party vendors. Your engaging, flexible, high-energy style has developed great teams of motivated professionals. You are very comfortable interacting as a peer with a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels, putting colleagues and partners at ease. You have a record of proven success in entrepreneurial environments and are seeking a role where you can enhance a dynamic organization.
